Day 3: Yielding to the Potter
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Romans 9:20-21 (KJV)
Reflection: When it comes to the potter and the clay, it’s the potter who decides the shape, the design, the end product. And we, like the clay, have to yield. It might not always be comfortable, we might not always understand, but trust me, the potter always has a plan.
Illustration: A lump of clay can be turned into anything – a vase, a pot, or even a delicate figurine. The final result depends on the potter’s plan, his vision. God has a vision for us too. He sees our potential and molds us into something useful, beautiful, and purposeful.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to submit, to trust Your plans. May we always be open to Your shaping hands. Amen.
