Day 2: Rooted and Grounded in Love
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.
Ephesians 3:17 (KJV)
Reflection: Paul highlights the necessity of being rooted and grounded in love, for it is from this love that our faith springs forth. This isn’t a shallow love but a profound, nourishing love that Christ offers, allowing us to have Him dwell in our hearts. As we allow ourselves to be deeply rooted in His love, we enable our faith to grow robust and strong.
Illustration: Think about a tree planted by the riverbank. Its roots extend deep into the soil, absorbing essential nutrients and water. So too, when we are rooted in Christ’s love, our faith absorbs the life-giving nourishment needed to flourish.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that I would be deeply rooted in your love. Help me to extend my roots deep into the soil of your love, that my faith might grow and bear fruit. Amen.
