Day 3: Knowing the Unknowable
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge…
Ephesians 3:18-19a (KJV)
Reflection: Paul desires for believers to comprehend the vast dimensions of Christ’s love, a love that surpasses all human understanding. It’s a seemingly paradoxical request to know the unknowable. Yet, as we seek Him, Christ reveals glimpses of His immeasurable love, deepening our relationship with Him.
Illustration: Imagine standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon, trying to grasp its sheer magnitude. It’s immense, overwhelming, beyond comprehension. Yet, you catch a glimpse of its grandeur. So it is with Christ’s love – unimaginably vast, yet knowable in part as we pursue Him.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the grace to comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of your love. Even though it surpasses knowledge, help me to know you more each day. Amen.
