Day 2: Recognize the Enemy
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Reflection: Our adversary, the devil, is continually seeking to disrupt and destroy our spiritual journey. Like a roaring lion, he’s always on the prowl, looking for moments of weakness. It’s important to stay sober-minded and vigilant, alert to the enemy’s tactics and resisting his attempts to lead us astray.
Illustration: Consider a watchman on a city wall, ever vigilant for signs of the approaching enemy. His role is crucial to warn the city and prepare for defense. Similarly, we are called to be spiritual watchmen, constantly vigilant for the enemy’s attack.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the vigilance to recognize the enemy’s tactics and the strength to resist him. May Your Holy Spirit guide me, and may Your truth be my guide. Amen.
