Day 1: Our Unseen Adversaries

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Reflection: The struggles we face daily aren’t simply physical battles, but spiritual warfare against unseen forces of darkness. These forces are often behind conflicts and divisions, seeking to hinder our faith and God’s work in our lives. It’s crucial to remember that people aren’t our true enemies; the spiritual forces working behind the scenes are.

Illustration: Imagine trying to swat a fly that you can’t see but can feel buzzing around you. It’s frustrating, and it’s futile because you can’t see your adversary. Just like this, we often battle unseen forces that we must acknowledge to effectively fight.

Prayer: Father, help me to remember that my struggles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Grant me discernment to recognize this unseen warfare, and guide me to respond in a way that brings glory to Your name. Amen.
