Day 5: Preserved for His Kingdom

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen

2 Timothy 4:18  (KJV)

Reflection: Not only does God deliver us from our current trials, He also preserves us for His eternal kingdom. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were saved from the furnace, but their ultimate preservation was for God’s heavenly kingdom. As believers, we have this hope too.

Illustration: Like a seed preserved in the ground until it’s time to bloom, so we too are preserved by God until it’s time for us to enter His heavenly kingdom.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promise to preserve us for Your kingdom. Help us to live each day with this eternal perspective. Amen.
