Endurance to the End – Loyalty in the Shadows | Day 3

Endurance to the End – Loyalty in the Shadows | Day 3

Day 3: Endurance to the End

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

2 Samuel 23:10 (KJV)

Reflection: Eleazar shows us the essence of endurance. He fought until his hand was weary and stuck to his sword. Life’s battles might make us weary, but like Eleazar, we are called to hold on even when it feels easier to let go. Our acts of perseverance have ripple effects that can bring about divine victories.

Illustration: Think of a long-term project you worked on, perhaps something for church or your community. There were times you felt drained and thought about quitting. But you persevered, and the result was worth the effort and brought benefit to others.

Prayer: Father, grant me the stamina to endure the challenges that come my way. Help me be an example of steadfast faith and endurance in my community. Amen.
