Would You Forsake This Gift?

Would You Forsake This Gift?

Hopefully you didn’t give so much of your time to the department stores this weekend, that you are too tired to go to church this morning. I feel that too often we are more worried about forsaking a deal, on a gift, from the department store than we are of forsaking the gift we have in Jesus.

Food for Thought: How many people did you talk to about a great deal you saw, or got in the last week, and now think about how many lost people you talked to about Jesus this last year.

My wife came home from the big WM yesterday and told me about a great deal on 55″ TV’s and how, it seemed that, every other person had one in their cart. My thought is; what if everyone that professes faith in Christ where to get some lost person on their heart and be as excited and motivated to see them saved as these shoppers where to get a deal on the 55″ plastic picture box. I’ll tell you what would happen, our churches would be fuller than any department store on Black Friday.

I have never read a verse in the bible warning us about forsaking a deal on Black Friday, or any day for that matter. But I did read these:

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (26) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, (27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:24-27

“Salvation Full and FREE”; only in Jesus, better than any Black Friday deal, Ever! And the only gift that lasts forever!
