Day 4: The Art of Holy Living Part 2
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
Romans 12:12 (KJV)
Reflection: Trials and tribulations are inevitable in life. However, this verse tells us to rejoice in hope and to be patient when difficulties come. It also highlights the importance of unwavering, persistent prayer. These three principles act as anchors, helping us to maintain a godly posture through life’s storms.
Illustration: When you’re baking a cake, you don’t just throw all the ingredients into the oven and hope for the best. You mix them in a specific order, at specific times, for specific reasons. Similarly, hope, patience, and prayer are like ingredients in our lives that, when combined correctly, result in a life pleasing to God.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the joy that comes from hope, the calm that comes from patience, and the intimacy with You that comes from constant prayer. Amen.
