Inviting Divine Scrutiny – Beneath The Surface| Day 3

Day 3: Inviting Divine Scrutiny

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)

Reflection: David’s prayer is a sincere invitation for God to examine his heart and thoughts. This request for divine scrutiny shows his willingness to expose any hidden sin and his desire to be led in the path of righteousness. David understands that only God can fully know our hearts and reveal any wickedness within us. It is a reminder for us to adopt the same attitude of humility and openness towards God’s correction.

Illustration: A student willingly handing in their work for the teacher’s review understands that the teacher’s corrections are to help them improve. Similarly, we should willingly submit ourselves to God’s scrutiny, knowing His corrections are for our good and growth.

Prayer: Lord, we invite You to search our hearts and know our thoughts. Reveal any hidden sin within us and lead us in Your way everlasting. We submit ourselves to Your divine scrutiny and correction, knowing that it leads to our spiritual growth. Amen.
