Day 5: Heartily for the Lord
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ
Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV)
Reflection: This scripture encourages us to do everything heartily for the Lord, not for men. It is a reminder that every labor undertaken for Christ isn’t in vain but has eternal significance. It motivates us to abound in our work for God, doing it with all our heart, as unto the Lord.
Illustration: It’s like a child making a gift for their parent. The child puts in their best effort, not for any reward but purely out of love. In the same way, our work for the Lord should be done heartily, out of love for Him and not for men’s applause.
Prayer: Dear Lord, let our work be a pleasing offering to you. Help us to do everything heartily, as unto you and not unto men. May we always remember the eternal significance of our labor in You, and may it spur us on to serve You more. Amen.
