Day 2: Doing, not just Hearing

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:22  (KJV)

Reflection: It’s easy to fall into the trap of being a ‘hearer’ only. We may listen to sermons, read the Bible, even memorize verses, but if these don’t translate into action, we’re missing the mark. Authentic faith involves not just hearing the Word, but living it out in daily life.

Illustration: It’s like going to school, sitting in class, and hearing the teacher, but never doing your homework or studying for the tests. You might hear the lessons, but without putting them into practice, you won’t truly learn.

Prayer: Lord, help us to be doers of Your Word, not hearers only. May Your teachings guide our actions and decisions every day. Amen.
