It is with much prayer, consideration and council, in light of the continued spread of COVID-19 in Arkansas, we have made the decision to alter our services and schedule of services at Calvary Baptist Church.
As of today, we are cancelling Sunday school, Nursery and Wednesday evening Children’s program. We will still meet at our regular time of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Sunday and 6:00 PM on Wednesday.
During these services we request everyone resist the urge to shake hands or any other physical contact with anyone other than your immediate family members. We would also request that all families sit together.
We request that all elderly or persons that are at higher risk because of underlying health conditions, evaluate your decision to come or not on your specific situation. And as always, if you are sick don’t come to church and don’t get out unless you absolutely have to.
We will do our very best to record and get all of our services uploaded to YouTube as timely as possible for those who are not able to attend in person. For those who may not have access to the internet please let us know and we can make provision to put the services on DVD for you.
In this difficult time and as we implement these temporary changes, we cannot forget that our church has financial responsibilities, bills to pay and the financial contributions for the missionary works that we pledge support to.
Don’t forget that if you can’t be at church during this time you can give your tithes and offerings online directly through our church website or Tithe.ly mobile app, go here for details. If you would rather mail them in, the address to mail them to is: 3388 Highway 167, Evening Shade, AR 72532
Please continue to pray about this situation. Pray for our churches, pray for our country, pray for the sick and pray for the broken hearted. Pray for our leaders, in church, government and medical fields, that God grants them wisdom and discernment in this situation. Most of all pray for the lost. Be ready to do some witnessing as God may even use this situation to open some people’s eyes to their need for Him.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Peter 3:15 KJV
Let us not allow fear to consume us in this tumultuous time, God is still on the throne and still very much in control. One of the most important things for God’s people to do in times like these is to pray and keep our minds about us. Use common sense and make healthy choices in your daily walk, both physically and spiritually.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
