Day 5: Confessing and Being Cleansed
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:9 (KJV)
Reflection: John assures us of God’s faithfulness in forgiving and cleansing us when we confess our sins. This promise of God’s readiness to forgive provides a beacon of hope. No sin is too great or too small for God’s forgiveness. As we humbly turn to Him, He faithfully cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
Illustration: Think of a child who, after disobeying his parents, acknowledges his mistake and asks for forgiveness. The parents, in their love, not only forgive but also assure the child of their unchanging love. Similarly, our Heavenly Father forgives us and assures us of His unfailing love when we confess our sins.
Prayer: Faithful Father, we confess our sins to You, knowing that You are just and will forgive us. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and guide us in Your ways. We are grateful for Your unfailing love and mercy. Amen.
