The Humble Return – Haste Makes Waste | Day 4

The Humble Return – Haste Makes Waste | Day 4

Day 4: The Humble Return

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Luke 15:20  (KJV)

Reflection: This verse depicts the prodigal son’s humbling return and the father’s compassionate welcome. Despite the son’s previous impatience and disregard, the father waits patiently for his return, demonstrating unconditional love. This teaches us the beauty of patience, forgiveness, and the boundless grace of our heavenly Father.

Illustration: Consider a child who disobeys his parents by playing in the mud after being told not to. When he returns home, dirty and regretful, his parents clean him up and hug him, showing their love remains, despite his disobedience.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your endless love and patience. Help us to humble ourselves before You and trust in Your timing. May we always remember Your willingness to welcome us back, no matter how far we’ve strayed.
