Day 4: The Deception of the World’s Ways

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 14:12  (KJV)

Reflection: The world offers many paths that may seem attractive, even right. But these ways, disconnected from God’s truth, only lead to spiritual death. This is why it’s so important to align our lives with God’s Word, not the transient trends of the world.

Illustration: A hiker might see a shortcut on a trail and decide to take it, only to end up lost or in danger. Following our own way instead of God’s way can lead us into similar peril.

Prayer: Father, keep us from the deception of the world’s ways. Guide us in Your truth and keep us on the path that leads to life. Amen.
